I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Stratford Upon Avon, infamous for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
It has been an ambition of mine to visit his birth town, and it certainly did not disappoint - the whole town and surrounding areas are a theatrical haven, filled with magical places connecting to the Bard.
I was lucky enough to obtain a selection of recent RSC programmes which are filled with photographs of the productions and interesting information about the history of this famous theatre.
In addition to these, I was also delighted to find a shop selling old programmes from the West End and beyond. I could have purchased the entire shop! I came away with a selection of programmes dating back to the 1920's. I plan to upload photographs of these on the twitter and Instagram pages soon. Currently, a 1927 programme from the Vaudeville Theatre and 1926 programme from the London Pavilion can be found on the Instagram page. Over the next few days, I hope to delve deeper into the history of these productions and their respective theatres.
I am continuing to add to this site and add more to the Instagram and twitter pages - stay tuned for more!
