Script library
Borrow a play!

An active, breathing, collaborative library where the work grows with you.

act 1

We have hundreds of playtexts, books about playwrights, theatre history non-fiction books and programmes in our extensive script library. We encourage the practice of 'collaborative marginalia' and welcome any notes, thoughts and scribblings you wish to add to the books you loan. Over time, the texts will gather a rich archive of thought formed by the reader's insights.

Marginalia: (plural noun) marginal notes or embellishments (as in a book)

Each play you borrow comes with a set of blank notecards for your notes. You are welcome to keep these or return them with the book to contribute to the growing, collaborative notes featured in the archive.

Add your piece of the story to the library.

"The idea is that this 'thinking' library celebrates the live dialogue between author and reader, reflecting the collaborative and connected nature of theatre itself. We are creating theatre in the margins of our scripts and passing them onto future generations to learn from."

- Timothy Norman
