Our extensive theatre library features hundreds of playtexts, books about playwrights, theatre history books and programmes. We encourage the practice of "collaborative marginalia" and welcome your notes, thoughts and scribblings in the books you loan. Over time, these texts will gather a rich archive of thought informed by the reader's insights. At Theatrabilia, you will find fresh, new playtexts from publishers such as Nick Hern Books and Methuen Drama, vintage scripts marked by actors and directors in rehearsals, and specialist, rare books saved from different collections.

 

We are proud to stock pre-loved and new books - each sharing shelf space to support and develop theatre history research. In our books, you'll discover musings from theatre-makers of the past, creative ephemera, supplementary notes and bookmarks.

Each play you borrow comes with a set of blank notecards for your notes. You are welcome to keep these or return them with the book to contribute to the growing, collaborative notes featured in the archive.
