Theatrabilia’s inaugural exhibition, which celebrated the anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth and death, ran with great success at Stuart House, Liskeard from 23rd – 28th April 2018.
The delightful building created a perfect setting for the display, which was dedicated to my Grandfather who had presented his own collections at the venue throughout the years.
A culmination of my recent research, the exhibition showcased memorabilia and books, focussing on each stage of Shakespeare’s life and how it influenced his plays.
The week was humbling, thought provoking and inspiring, with the room becoming a space for celebration and reflection of the Bard's work. It was very exciting to meet visitors who shared stories about their favourite productions. Discussing theatrical memories became both emotional and inspiring – a real testament to the power of art and its ability to leave a lasting impression.
Stuart House
It was a real joy to spend time in Stuart House; a beautiful, late medieval building with an incredible history. The intimate Jane Room has a great Shakespearean quality, reflecting the exhibition’s themes. More information about the venue can be found at stuarthouse.org.uk.

The future
The display marks the start of a new chapter for this website and my archive as a whole. I aim to work on the site across the next year to create an accessible platform for further research of theatre history.
Stay tuned for site updates, including a new URL which will be a lot easier to remember than the current one! Further updates will include an enlarged database of my collection and more blog posts.
A huge thank you to all who supported me with the event and to the 127 people who visited.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
