WEST END
Theatre: Adelphi Programme date: 1926 Aloma (A Tale of the South Seas) is a play by John B. Hymer and Le Roy Clemens which inspired a popular (now lost) silent film in 1926. The programme in my collection derives from the same year – the show was playing at the Adelphi Theatre on the Strand – the beating heart of London’s dazzling West End. Prominent silent film star and Broadway actress Vivienne Osborne adorns the front cover as the titular Aloma.
